2010 Toyota Auris HSD
It's a double celebration for Toyota's workforce in the UK as the Japanese firm has just produced its three millionth cars at its Burnaston plant. At the same time, Toyota has announced that it will be building its Auris Hybrid at the Derbyshire factory.
The Toyota Auris HSD will join the Avensis on the Burnaston production line and will be exported to European countries. Toyota expects strong demand for the Auris Hybrid, which gives 74.3mpg average economy and 89g/km carbon dioxide emissions. Engines for the Auris Hybrid will also be assembled in the UK at Toyota's Deeside Industrial Park facility in North Wales.
